Right product?

Inquiry:

Hello, I setup a pop-up restaurant once a week. I am in need of two wok burners. You have multiple options and I was looking for direction on the correct ones. Thank you.

Outdoorstirfry:

You sound like doing something we call Saturday farmer’s market or flea market here in northern California.   There are a few questions for you:

  1. Are you using propane tank (like those 20lbs ones)?
  2. Are you doing stir frying on both stoves?
  3. Do you prefer stoves on the ground or on one of your table?

Inquiry:

Oh yes. Propane tanks.

One more thing. I should have collected my thoughts better in one email. I apologize. I am using 20” carbon steel woks.

Outdoorstirfry:

PF13L160 is powerful enough for 20″ carbon steel wok.   2 PF13L160 stoves would be our recommendation.   We had customer doing similar application as yours.   If you order, please put in a note about your usage such that we can make the products compliance to most city code.

Some city complains about our product for crowded area.   We can make PF13L160 compliance if we know your intention.

Inquiry:

How high off the ground does the wok stand? I like it at around 4 feet.

Outdoorstirfry:

PF13L160 goes about 30″ in height.   However we could make special long legs to give you about 42″ in height.

I need some advice on woks.

Customer (PF13L160):

Hello,  I am really enjoying the burner.  I need some advice on woks.   I bought a stainless steel wok and it’s not really working too well.  What kind of wok should I buy?

Outdoorstirfry:

Stainless steel may not conduct heat evenly, although the stove at its high heat end may be able to overcome this.   This may anyway create some problem at low heat cooking.

We would recommend getting a cast iron or carbon steel wok.   Usually cast iron work conducts heat the best, however it seldom comes in long handle.    Long handle is very convenient, safe and cool at high heat.   This cones to our optimum – carbon steel with long handle.   An example is at https://outdoorstirfry.com/?page_id=338#CarbonSteelWSL.
