Customer:
I’m ordering a wok. They look nice but quite heavy so there’s a size tradeoff for handling/flipping (size options 32cm: 2kg, 34cm: 2.2kg, 36cm: 2.4kg). I saw you recommended larger 14in+ woks for the PowerFlamer, and I know the Plus is the larger burner unit. In your experience: would smaller 32cm (12.5″) woks be uncomfortable to use on the Plus (e.g. because the hand is too close to the heat)?
Outdoorstirfry:
The reason for us to recommend >=14″ wok is safety. If the wok diameter is <13″, stove flame can come in direct contact with the wok long handle. No matter if the long handle is of wood or metal, it is not safe for human handling. Wok >14″ can assure that the long handle is outside of the stove wind guard area. The long handle should operate within the range in the picture below. This upright area on the wind guard prevents the stove flame from reaching outside. It provides a safe operating area for wok handle.
