Customer (PF13L160EI):
Am I correct that you can’t leave the pilot lit while cooking with the electronic ignition version?
Outdoorstirfry:
The electronic ignition version does not have a pilot light. The spark ignitor has an electric wire with insulation attached on it. If you leave it lit, the wire insulation will melt and becomes useless.
Customer:
When cooking should I turn the pilot light off or can it be turned down so If I turn the main burner off I can just turn main burner back on the pilot will light the burner. OR — if left on when cooking (not all the time) will it do some harm to the piezo unit? I do not want to melt any wires.
Outdoorstirfry:
The electronic ignition head is designed to strike and to give a flame to the main burner. It needs to be turned off after the main burner is on. If the main burner is off, you will need to re-strike again. The electronic ignition head can’t serve as a pilot flame.
