Is long leg version of PowerFlamer 160 compatible with the stand?

Inquiry:

Good afternoon! I am considering the PowerFlamer Natural Gas 160 Fixed Installation, and have a question about the legs. If I buy with long legs but decide at a later date to buy the stainless cart, will I be able to install it? I noticed that the listing says that the stainless cart is for the short leg version of the PowerFlamer. Thank you!

Outdoorstirfry:

You are correct.  The long legs are detachable.   Once detached, the stove becomes a short leg version, ready to be inserted into the stand.

Can long legs be detachable?

Inquiry:

I am interested in the Powerflamer 160 long leg manual ignition model. Is it correct to assume that this model can also be used on a table top minus the leg extensions? Does the Powerflamer 160 get hot on the table surface? would I need to protect the table?

Outdoorstirfry:

The long legs can be detached from a long leg stove.  The result is a short leg version that can sit on top of a non-combustible table.   The table top needs to be non-combustible.

Long vs Short Legs

Inquiry:

Hi, planning to purchase for my son in law. however, unsure decision on short legs or long legs, this is out of my area of expertise and what to be sure to purchase properly. On reviews the legs are stated to be more industrial and perhaps people are switching them out. ? support welcome. Thank you.

Outdoorstirfry:

Short leg version is for tabletop cooking.  People put the short leg version on table or into a stove stand.

Long legs enable the stove to stand on the ground.   People usually have a table beside the stove for spices, sauces etc.

Heights of Short and Long Leg PowerFlamer Stoves? Are the legs (bend) done properly?

Customer (PF13L160_Stabilizers)

Are the legs done properly ? Is the completed height 31”. I thought there were short legs for tabletop operation and extensions to use on the floor. Are the places where the longer legs attach considered the short table legs?

Outdoorstirfry:

The short leg stove uses the short legs from the base plate, about 1.5 inches.  The long legs have bend such that they can spread out wider to increase stove stability.  Entire long leg stove should be about 30~32 inches in height.   This is to consider a wok depth of 4 inches, such that the wok handle height is at 36 inches.   We consider 36 inches as the average height for people’s elbow, comfortably lifting the wok with elbow in horizontal position.

For how the long legs spread, please see the “Usage Examples” section of the stabilizer product https://outdoorstirfry.com/product/long-leg-stabilizer-for-long-leg-stoves/.   For how to spread the long legs, please see “How to achieve stable long legs for PowerFlamer propane 160 stoves?” at https://outdoorstirfry.com/support/product-documentation/.
