Sudden Yellow Flame

Customer:

Hi,  My stove suddenly the flames become yellow instead of blue fire. Issit because of the regulator?  Can’t seem to use the stove now. The fire is yellowish.

Outdoorstirfry:

Can you help us by telling what changes before and after this yellow flame occurs?   For example,

  1. Did you change the propane tank?
  2. Did you change the burner, the center piece upside down?
  3. Did you turn the stem on top of the regulator?

A couple pictures would help.   Also item 2 on page 6 of attached installation guide deals with yellow flame.

Customer:

Hi i have solved the problem! The bottom golden ring that allows air in was closed. Ot seems to move easily when the black rubber gas tube moves. Is that the case?

Outdoorstirfry:

Great to hear this!  The bottom golden ring is the air shutter.  If It shuts fully, there is no air to mix with the fuel.  This explains the yellow flame.

The black rubber hose should not need to move once you fix the locations for the propane tank and stove.  Once you fix these, hope this helps preventing the golden air shutter to move.
