Can a stove be upgraded to a configurable stove?

Inquiry:

I am about to purchase a PF13L160. If I ever feel a need in the future to use it with a disposable propane tank, can I purchase a fitting later on to connect the stove to a disposable tank. I know I can buy a configurable model now, but I suspect I may never see a need to connect it to a disposable tank, so I may just be throwing money away if I buy the configurable model now.

Answer:

You can buy the adaptor for the 1lb propane bottle later.  The difference of buying it now as part of a configurable stove and later is that it takes another postage if purchased alone.   We do not put this adaptor as an accessory on our web site.  When you need it, you can also contact with us directly in email or from our web site contact form.

Thank you so much for your very quick reply.  I have spent a lot of time on your website and have to say that your stoves look quite impressive.

After looking through your models, it seems to me that the PF13L160 offers the greatest power and flame adjustability.

Although I can understand why some people might want electronic ignition, stoves with EI appear to be more limited in their flame adjustability, and the EI components may fail over time anyway.  Did I assess this correctly?

Lastly, there is possibility that I might use the stove to cook for a lot of people at outdoor sports events.  My son is on a high school rowing team, and we typically feed as many as 200 people at regattas, not at one sitting but in smaller groups throughout the day.  I presently have a 16″ wok which I am sure would work fine on the PF13L160.   But if I wanted to acquire a larger diameter wok, how much larger could I use on the PF13L160?

Answer:

What you say in the first 3 paragraphs is true.  Since our stove is built to enable people to tilt their wok during cooking, you might be able to go up to 22″.   During cooking when you feel needing to heat area far from center of flame, you can tilt the wok for this purpose.

To be frank, if you do not plan to handle so many people, the smaller the wok, the better cooking experience you will have.   You will be able to heat up ingredients instantly, tilt or toss to exchange heat quickly.
