Electronic ignition head can’t strike a flame.

Outdoorstirfry (EF13SQN50WG):   

An EasyFlamer EF13SQN50WG stove has been deposited with www.xxx???.com.  It takes 2~3 business days to reach your address.   The tracking number is ????.

Attached in this email is the user installation guide.   When we test the stove before shipping, it takes 7~8 electronic strikes to have one successful.  So please have a manual long nose BBQ igniter handy.  Procedure on manual ignition can be found on page 3, item 15.   Bests.

So you’re telling me that the igniter is not working ? and just use a lighter ? Is there any advice that would make the igniter efficient so I can use it conveniently?

 EasyFlamer Natural Gas Stove: The stoves are of cast iron. The single burner has two venturi pipes, four flame rings. We have installed spider guard between the ignition head and the venturi pipes in an effort to deter spider web build up. Spider web can slow or even block gas delivery along the pipes to the burner. This usually causes yellow flame at the burner or even gas burning close to ignition head area. It eventually shortens the stove life. A picture of spider guard is here. The power of the stoves is between ~5kBTU/Hr and ~23kBTU/Hr. The stoves are adapted for natural gas use based upon requests from our customers for their outdoor high power cooking. They can not be used with propane gas. Behind the front power adjusting knob and under the burner pipe and front cover there is an electronic ignition valve assembly. The electronic ignition function is not reliable and its ability to ignite can vary from unit to unit and under different weather conditions. We advise to always have a manual BBQ long nose igniter handy when the electronic ignition function is not working. Please be aware that this product shipped from us may not have a functioning electronic ignition. In this case the stove is functioning as a manual one. /p>

The problem is actually associated with every electronic ignition gas stove.   We are accustomed to one successful strike if we get a flame within 3 tries.  Then we are fed up after #4 try.   In fact in my home I even have a manual long nose BBQ igniter beside my indoor gas range because one of the electronic “smart” ignition keeps trying but fails to ignite a flame.   On our web page we no longer sell this series of stove as electronic ignition type as we can’t guarantee them to work within 3~4 strikes.  Hope this makes sense.

I got you point with regards to your product but don’t generalized stoves as having ignition problems, mine doesn’t have. I bought this because, my burner on the side of my outdoor griller doesn’t fit my wok and frying pans and since I have a natural gas line in my backyard patio this item is the only one that fits. I can live with the long nose lighter but I hope this product will last long.

is 36cm good for PF13L160

Inquiry: 

I see you include standard hookup for US 20lb propane tank. Does this hookup include the regulator?

Will this unit cradle a 36cm round bottom wok?  What is the smallest wok I can use with this unit?

The stove has a regulator and a connector for a 20lbs propane tank.

36cm is about 14”.  This is the optimal size for PF13L160.   Smallest wok size is 14”.

natural gas stove for my outdoor kitchen

Inquiry:   

Hi- I am building an outdoor kitchen and recently came across your product after a significant amount of research. I am looking for a natural gas wok burner and can’t find anything that gets in the BTU range 0-160 that yours does. Is this correct? do I need to discuss anything with the plumber when he is setting up the gas line to make sure I get enough BTUs to the stove?

Our natural gas stove products use regular residential natural line.  If you make purchase, we will provide installation guide and support to achieve the power of the product.   Your plumber, if a good one, should not do practice like reducing down the line size from the utility entry point.  

We are not aware of other products.  If you know any similar to our product, please forward the link to us.  We will comment.  

We are sorry that you have to do a significant research in order to find our site.  Internet search engines, in these days,  are not able to make good and creditable information readily available at consumers’ finger tips.  Let us know any further question.

Yes our product will give rated power with residential natural gas line.  

We are in bay area California.   I used to work in Cleveland and Milwaukee area before.

How big of a wok will the burner hold?
How long does it take fro ordering to delivery?

Wok size from 14~22″ should fit really well.  Ordering to delivery should be within 10 days.   If you live close to west coast, it is about half time.

I will have a gas line run to the wok.  Do I need any electric run to it in order for it to operate?

I assume this allows a variable flame.  So if I want to go full blast on the wok I can or I can dial it back for a lower BTU.  

Some of the other ones I have seen are all or nothing.  No midrange flame.

The stove does not need electric run.  You can adjust the flame continuously.

Inquiry:

I’m getting closer to my design for the outdoor kitchen.  I’m looking at this model – PowerFlamer PF13SFN160: High Power Short Leg Natural Gas Stove with Fixed Installation.

One question I have: Does the gas pipe face the chef or can it be installed where the ipe can face a different direction? 

Also if I purchase and I don’t like it for any reason, can I return for. full refund?

Also – Do you have any photos of this unit installed?

PF13SFN160 has a top wok support which you can oriented conveniently to protect the chef.  This should allow the pipe to be installed away from the checf.

You can return the stove within 30 days on your own.  We will refund full for the stove, but not the shipping cost as it is spent.

Wind guard

I just ordered an EasyFlamer EF13LQN50WG ten minutes ago from your website. I am wondering if it is possible I can have one with wind guard in regular steel in black instead of in galvanized steel with no paint. My order receipt number is xxx-xxx-xxxx-xxxx. Thanks!

Thank you for your order and your message through our contact form.   The stove will ship out tomorrow.  We no longer offer black painted steel wind guard.   All our current products go with the galvanized steel wind guard as it is more weather proven.  Let us know if you have further question.

Thank you for quick responding. I am fine with galvanized steel wind guard. The black one just looks better 😁. One question: even though the one I bought is a quick disconnected one, can I keep it connected all the time after I use it each time? Thanks!!

Yes you can keep the connection after use.   In our installation guide we teach to install a manual shut off valve before the quick connection socket on the natural pipe line.  You will need to turn off this manual shut-off valve after use to prevent any gas coming through to the stove.   We will send the installation guide along with ship-out email.

Do I need to buy a manual shut off valve from local hardware store or it comes with the package which you mail to me?

You will need to buy the turn off valve yourself according to your pipe size.   They are readily available from your local hardware store.

Product customization request

Inquiry: 

I have a Natural gas outlet on my patio. My grill does NOT have a burner. I am looking for a Natural Gas burner that I can simply attach to my outdoor NG outlet. Will this work? Is this what I need for a stand alone NG outdoor burner? This is the only one I see on Amazon. Are the Propane burners I se on Amazon able to be used with Natural Gas?

Propane and natural gas burners are not interchangeable. Our natural gas products on amazon all have quick connector coming in pair – a plug already installed on the stove hose end and socket to be installed on your natural gas pipe. Once installed, our stove can plug in or be removed easily for cooking, storage or to accommodate other natural gas appliance like natural gas grill. Hope we answer your question.

Only difference between PF13LQN120 & PF13LFN160 is gas connect method?

Inquiry: 

Hi there,  Is the only difference between the PF13LQN120 & PF13LFN160 the gas connect method; quick connect vs. direct?
 
If so, is everything else identical between on two models (the burner, size, height, etc)?
 
I don’t understand how there can be a 40k BTU difference in output if the only difference between the models is quick connect vs. fixed.
 
What size are the black pipe fittings on the stove? They look like1/2″ from the photos.

Our fixed installation stove allows more gas to pass through to the burner.   Both 160K and 120K numbers are our actual measurement data points.   We don’t have more photos than that available from our web site.   Usually fixed installation is for serious customer who need to meet local code requirement by hiring a licensed plumber (~$200/Hr rate) and proper code compliance hose.   For regular home cooking, most people should find 120KBTU one is quite sufficient.   The black pipe on our stove is 1/2″.

Wok burner (PF13L160) Not Hot Enough

Customer: 

I noticed my burner is not turning up so high.  I have it on full blast and I can only get a medium flame.  I did leave it out overnight and there might be some rust accumulating, maybe the holes are a little plugged.  It used to run very hot at max output.  What do you think?

Outdoorstirfry: 

One highly possible reason is that you leave a burner valve in open position when you turn on the tank valve.   The regulator detects a leak and only gives partial pressure out.   To reset the regulator, here is the procedure:

  1. Turn off fully the propane tank top valve – to stop any more gas coming from the tank;
  2. Turn on fully the burner left valve – to let all pressure inside the regulator go out.
  3. Turn off fully both burner left and right valves – to prepare for regulator leak check.
  4. Turn on the propane tank valve – you should hear one click from top of the tank immediately.  Then after 10~30s you should hear another clicking sound from the regulator indicating it is completing its leak check and full pressure is available.  If you don’t hear this second clicking sound, you should do a leak check to see where a leak develops and fix it. 
  5. Once you hear the 2nd clicking sound, you can turn on the burner valve to ignite.

We have mentioned this on item #8 on page 3 of the installation guide.
