Thanks and two recipes

Customer (PF13L160):

Hi, I bought one of your wok cookers several years ago.  Time for a new one (I broke parts, it got rusted).   Ordered it yesterday.   I have been very happy with the first purchase and look forward to the second one.   I have included my go-to recipe (I rarely cook anything else on it because this is so good!).   ALSO: My 2 quart recipe for sauce.  Thx.

———-recipe——–

Chicken and Broccoli wok recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 container of extra firm tofu – dry it with paper towel and cube it about 1/2″ by 1/2″
  • 5 lbs chicken breast cutlets – trim and cube slightly bigger than tofu
  • 4 or 5 BIG heads of broccoli – Remove stalk and split pieces so tiny remaining stalks will cook thru
  • 1 cup shelled peanuts or cashews (buy them shelled if you can..its ALOT of work)
  • Peanut oil to cook in (you will need about a cup..peanut oil because its burn temp is highest))

Place the following in 3 different sections of a bowl reserved for Spices

  • Diced fresh ginger – about 3 tablespoons
  • Diced garlic – about 4 big cloves
  • Diced hot chilli peppers (from1 to 3, based on desire for heat)

Sauce (enough for a couple of meals…or just use some of my bulk recipe)

  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup rice vinegar
  • 4 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp chili oil
  • 3 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh ginger
  • 2 cups water/stock

Instructions:

  • Start some rice cooking. I wash the rice several times to take off starch.  Use 2 cups and rice to 3 cups of water. Get it to JUST a boil about 4 minutes, then use the absolute lowest simmer possible for 23 minutes.
  • Have everything prepped and ready to go before cooking
  • Have a big empty dish ready to place each item in when cooked.
  • Use a wok and a wok lid (or something that works as one.)
  • Cook each item separately.
  • Put in a little peanut oil and some spices before cooking each ingredient
  • Cook each item until just cooked thru.
  • When each item is done, place it into the waiting big dish
  • Careful with the peanuts….they go from zero to sixty in no time flat.
  • Add some water to the fry pan when cooking the broccoli an cover it for a few minutes to make it tender
  • When all the ingredients are done, put them all back into the wok, shake the sauce one last time, and pour some sauce over as you mix and heat for one last minute or two
  • Serve in bowls over rice

———-Stir Fry Sauce——-

Stir Fry Sauce (bulk)

Slightly less than two quarts of stir fry sauce

Fills a 64 oz Cranberry juice bottle with room to shake up the cornstarch

  • 2 cups soy sauce
  • 2/3 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup chili oil
  • 3/4 cup Sesame oil
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1.5 cups stock

Thanks for the repeat business.  Rust is always an issue for us.   If it is just rust, applying a coat of spray point should help. Next time if the stove just needs some small parts, you can let us know.  We might be able to able to come up a replacement.

Customer

Won’t spray paint degrade in the heat? If not, offer an upgrade to anti-rust the unit with paint. Or offer a cover.

Outdoorstirfry:

For PF13L160, flame from burner do not touch most of the stove area except the wok holder tips.   The paint should be able to last.   Our PF13L160 is painted with silver paint.  However it is not robust in outdoor environment.   For cover, we just use the wok.  Flip it upside down to cover the stove.

Customer

Cool. Thx.

Outdoorstirfry:

We made a dish according to your recipe.  The whole family likes it a lot.

Long Leg Stabilizer Adaptor

We have introduced long leg stabilizer adaptor.   When mounted at bottom of our long leg stoves, customers can place easily found heavy object such as propane tank, concrete block or bricks on top of the adaptor(s) to stabilize the entire stove.   This should be helpful when people want to toss food from wok while cooking.  For detail and ordering, please see here.

Still around?

Customer (PF13L130):

I wanted to buy a PF13L160 and wanted to make sure they were still available and you are still shipping during Covid.

Also I was wondering if you had a recommendation of large wok size.  I’ve been cooking on what is probably an 18″ wok and was looking to move up to somewhere between a 20″ to a 24″. Do you have any thoughts as to what large sizes work well with the burner?

I bought a PF13L130 from you a few years back and have loved it. I cook for my family of 7 through the Minnesota winters and though it sometimes struggles, I’m almost always able to cook except on the coldest/windiest days. We’ve just moved to CA and didn’t bring the stove with us and I figured I’d get an upgrade anyway as I’ll be cooking for 9 now.  Thanks.

Outdoorstirfry

Welcome to California.  If you are anyway close to south bay area next to San Jose, you probably can have a local pick up to save shipping charge etc.  We are shipping PF13L160 no interrupted by COVID-19.   PF13L160 is more suitable for large size of family.   The stove should be able to accommodate large wok size.  20~24″ wok should not be any problem.   We don’t carry those large size.  I believe you can always find and order online.

replacement hose

Customer (PF13L160EI):

Hi,  I have PF13L160EI. Mine came a few years ago with red hose, which is now weathered in the sun. I would like to buy a replacement hose.

Outdoorstirfry

Can you send pictures of your both hose ends in order for us to understand how to replace it?

Customer:

Attached are the pictures.

By the way, thank you for making the wok burners. You were the first one to make them and they are still the best out there! It’s been 15 years or so I have been using your burners. I started with a 180,000 or so BTU 9″ burner before switching to the 160,000 BTU 13″ burner and I really love the 13″ model. It’s really a perfect design! The wind shield works great! You can fo from full power to low power using the controll knob with very few turns. Plus, it’s been sitting in Arizona intense summer heat for about 6 years and the unit still looks/works great.  Regards,

Outdoorstirfry:

Thank you for the pictures.  Now we know what to send – a hose and a couple new clamps.

Thank you for your kind words.  We love to hear feedback like yours.

Liquid Propane vs Propane Gas

Inquiry

Hi.  I see that you list the item for propane gas. Where I live, we have LP gas, which I understand to be a mix of propane and others.  Will this burner work with LP gas as well?   Please advise.

Outdoorstirfry

LP is liquid propane.   When liquid propane comes out of the tank, it becomes propane gas.   Any cooking appliance with propane uses propane gas, not liquid propane directly.   However we can say that our products work with LP as well.

natural gas stove questions

Inquiry

I am looking for a table top burner to connect on a residential natural gas line.

  1. Do i need a qualified Gas technician to install in Florida? I am pretty sure i can do it myself though.
  2. Is this type of stove suitable for Garage with a window? I will leave it connected all the time as used in kitchen.
  3. I have 1/2″ natural gas line in garage (picture attached). Will i be able to connect this model straight away? Will you include all required fixtures on both ends?

Outdoorstirfry

  1. Usually local code can require your installation to comply, especially if you want it indoor. In that case only our fixed installation type like EF13SFN50 can comply.   For outdoor installation, it is much more relaxed.  For sure, you will need to check with your local city.
  2. We would only suggest our fixed installation type for your indoor garage.  But we don’t have a suitable 2 burner fixed installation stove.
  3. Your picture shows a shut off valve. Depend on specific stove product you buy, you might have to buy some fittings from your local hardware store to complete the installation.

Inquiry:

Many thanks for your reply. Actually i was thinking to buy your EasyFlamer EF05SQN10DUO: Short Leg Duo Burner Natural Gas Stove with Quick Disconnect.  do you think this is suitable for Garage? Also, could you please advise about your return policy in case if it does not fit on our line or suit us?

Outdoorstirfry

Quick connector is usually an outdoor gadget.  Indoor even in garage is better to have fixed installation.

You can return the stove within 60 days of purchase if it does not fit and has not been used.

Questions on PF13L160EI

Inquiry

Hello, I’m looking to purchase, but have a few questions.

    1) The PF13L160EI, is there any other difference between this and the manual ignition, besides the ignition? Has the electronic ignition gotten better? I read some of ur archived info, and it seems the electric ignition isn’t too reliable, and I think it’s like $50 more!

    2) what PSI is the regulator? 0-?

    3) on the electric and manual, does it now come with the braided hose screwing onto the burner? I do NOT want one that is secured with the tension strap.

    4) do you warranty the burner? If so, for how long?

    Thank you for your time.

Outdoorstirfry:

  1. the main difference between PF13L160EI and PF13L160 is the electronic ignition. Electronic ignition eventually will fail due to weather and aging of components.  So it eventually will be used as a manual one.   The electronic ignition component is much more expensive and we want to discourage it.
  2. 0-30PSI.
  3. Both stoves have stainless braided hose. However inside it is still a rubber type.  The braided stainless protect the rubber hose from environment.  The PF13L160EI still has one end of the hose secured by worm type clamp.  If you don’t like this, your choice should be PF13L160.
  4. You can return the product if not used within 60 days of purchase. Once used we support it whole-heartily but without promise.   We reserve our right to serve our customer the best way we see it.
